Privacy

Office Lab is built so that your files stay with you. This page explains exactly what happens to a file in each case.

Browser tools: nothing is uploaded

Every tool marked “Runs on your device” works on the file inside your own browser; the file never leaves your device. You can check it yourself: open the tool, disconnect from the internet, and it still works.

Server-version tools

Some heavy conversions (such as Word to PDF) need a server. Then the file is uploaded over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), converted in a temporary folder of its own, and deleted as soon as the conversion ends; any leftovers are removed automatically within an hour at most. We keep no copies and never log file contents: the log holds only the tool name, the time and the size.

Translation

The free translation runs on your device. “Professional translation” sends the text (not the file) to Anthropic's Claude to translate it, and is used only when you choose it.

No tracking, no ads

No tracking cookies, no ads, no analytics. The only things kept in your browser are your choices: language, dark mode, the invoice draft and the tool chains you save — you can clear them in your browser settings.

Working offline

If you install Office Lab as an app or turn on offline use, the browser keeps the site's own files (not yours) so it works without a connection.

Check it yourself

Office Lab is fully open source, so anyone can read the code and confirm all of the above. Source code on GitHub
